I just installed a new foyer gallery exhibit of photographic works by a longtime friend. I’ve known Robin Dreyer since the early 90s when I first attended workshops at Penland, where Robin is the communications director.
Folks in the mountains don’t come down off the hill that often (especially since Spruce Pine became “wet”) so I appreciate that Robin drove down to share some of his recent photography and daguerrotype work.
From the text panel….
“The prints in this exhibition document intersections between people and the landscape, although people in these pictures are mostly represented by their artifacts…”
Randy Hamilton stopped by the studio last week and wrote a nice article on his Durham Photography Examiner blog.
The show will be up through the end of June and Robin will be returning for a reception on June 18 (as part of Third Friday Durham from 6-9pm. Please stop by and say hi if you are out and about.
The foyer gallery hours are Wednesday afternoons from 4-6pm (coinciding with the farmers’ market one block up the street) and we are happy to make appointments at 919 949 4847 for viewing at other times.
More about Robin Dreyer and his work here at his website.
